city of trees

Midtown Sacramento is the heart of Sacramento's urban core. Grab coffee at Scorpio Coffee, enjoy wine and small bites on the patio at Good News Wine, or simply stroll through the neighborhood's diverse mix of boutiques, coffee shops, restaurants, bars, and parks.

Tour the California State Capitol and surrounding gardens for a glimpse into the history of lawmaking and governing in the state. For more history, explore Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park, the first non-Native American settlement in central California, or visit the Leland Stanford Mansion, one of California's best preserved examples of a mid-1800s Renaissance Revival mansion.

Founded in 1885, it holds one of the premier collections of Californian art, as well as American works dating from the Gold Rush to the present, European paintings and master drawings, one of the largest international ceramics collections in the United States, and collections of Asian, African, and Oceanic art.

You've got questions

we've got answers

What should I wear?

Attire is semi-formal. The ceremony and reception will be outside on a grass lawn, so please bring a light layer for the evening and plan your footwear accordingly.

What is the weather like in Guinda in late April?

Expect highs around 75F/24C and lows around 55F/10C.

How should I get there?

Transportation to and from the wedding on Saturday will be provided for all guests leaving from the Sacramento hotels listed on the Accommodations page. The shuttle will depart from Kimpton Sawyer Hotel (500 J St, Sacramento, CA 95814) promptly at 2:15 pm. Please arrive no later than 2:00 pm to ensure a timely departure. The shuttle will return at 10:00 pm following the reception.

All other guests, including guests who intend to camp with us the night of the wedding or stay at a different hotel, will need to drive to and from the wedding, as Full Belly Farm is located in a rural area without reliable access to Lyft/Uber. Full Belly Farm is approximately a one-hour drive from Sacramento and a two-hour drive from the Bay Area, but we recommend leaving plenty of time for traffic and other unexpected delays. There will be ample parking available at the venue for guests who drive themselves.

Guests coming from out of the country should fly into San Francisco International Airport. Other out-of-town guests should fly into Sacramento International Airport.

I've never been to a camping wedding! How does it work?

The campsite is part of Full Belly Farm, just a short walk from the ceremony and reception site, and includes bathrooms and outdoor showers with hot water. You can arrive as early as 2:30 PM on April 27 to set up your campsite, then feel free to use the campsite's showers and bathrooms to get ready for the wedding or relax at the campsite until the wedding begins at 4 PM. Breakfast will be provided the following morning, and you will need to be packed up and checked out by 11 AM.

Please note that camping is not available the night before the wedding, so you will need to find alternative accommodations if you plan to stay in the vicinity of the wedding that evening.

What camping gear do I need to bring?

If you plan to camp with us, you will need to bring your own tent, sleeping pad, sleeping bag, pillow, towel (if you plan to use the campsite showers), and camping chair. While the campsite will have a few electrical outlets available, you may also find a portable battery helpful for charging your cell phone overnight.

Camping gear can be rented through Sports Basement in San Francisco or REI or Peak Adventures in Sacramento. If you need further help finding camping supplies, contact the bride or groom and we will do our best to assist you.
